- Kim Robien was quoted in the Star Tribune about the importance of wearing sunscreen and how it affects the body’s ability to produce vitamin D. The article also mentions a U of M study about the effects of vitamin D deficiency.
- Traci Toomey was quoted in the Chicago Tribune about public health strategies to limit alcohol consumption. The article is in response to recent research that links alcohol consumption with an increased risk of cancer; it also appeared in the Detroit Free Press.

- Beth Virnig was quoted in the Star Tribune about research that found that many women who are diagnosed with breast cancer proceed with double mastectomies without increasing their survival rate. Virnig was a co-author of the study.

- Michael Osterholm was interviewed on Minnesota Public Radio this morning about the government’s new tiered vaccine plan which will be used to distribute a limited supply of vaccines, in the case of pandemic flu. He was also quoted in a Canadian Press article which highlighted the pros and cons of mass-producing flu vaccines in order to prepare for a global pandemic.
