This course is approved for purposes of certification under Section 402 of the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) for training individuals to conduct renovation, repair and painting activities. This course was developed by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to train renovation, repair, and painting contractors how to work safely in housing with lead-based paint and comply with EPAs Renovation, Repair, and Painting (RRP) Rule, and HUDs Lead Safe Housing Rule.

The curriculum consists of instructional and interactive exercise sessions and successful completion of this course will enhance the trainees credentials as a private contractor and also satisfy HUD requirements for interim controls training in Federally-assisted target housing.
