Does your Respirator Program include training, respirator selection, medical evaluation, and fit testing? When was the last review done and updates made to your Program? This class is designed to review and explain the OSHA Respiratory Protection Standard (1910.134), and the newest updates. Key elements of daily program implementation as well as planning for emergencies will be addressed using a practical approach.
In addition, fit testing will be presented and you will have the opportunity to participate in a fit testing laboratory.
PROGRAM OBJECTIVES
At the end of this class, you will be able to:
-Identify when, and for what reasons, an organization is required to have a respiratory protection program
-Describe the elements of a respiratory protection program
-List qualitative and quantitative fit test methods and discuss advantages and disadvantages of each
-Explain criteria for cartridge and filter selection and cartridge change schedules
-Perfom qualitative fit tests in accordance with acceptable protocols.
