Course Materials

How do I know what book(s) to buy?

Option 1: Go to the Class Schedule and select the term and subject.  Scroll to the appropriate course and section, then click on the Bookstore link.  If there are any required course materials, they will be listed here. You will have the option of buying them immediately via the University of Minnesota Bookstore directly from this screen.

Option 2: Go to the University of Minnesota Bookstore website and sign in with your internet id and password.  The system will look at your registration and automatically display all required materials.

Option 3: You are not required to purchase your course materials from the UMN Bookstore.

Notes:
1) Check the Bookstore link frequently. The instructor may submit the required book after registration begins.

2) Some courses may not require a book. Instead, the instructor may be using online articles.  If nothing is listed, do not panic. You are not responsible for finding this information before the first day. At that time the instructor will let you know what is expected.

3) Do not assume that the same book that was required a previous term will be required for future term.  There may be a change of instructor, or a new edition.  Wait until you know for sure before making a purchase
