Funding with Admission

The Epidemiology doctoral program works very hard to offer some financial support to students at the point of admission.  While the program does admit a few students each year without a specific offer of assistantship with the letter of admission, the majority of those admitted will also be offered some financial support for at least the first year of their doctorate program.

Graduate Assistant Positions

Research and teaching assistantship positions become available throughout the year in the School of Public Health as well as other departments across the University of Minnesota.  Many research assistant positions require knowledge of statistical computing, such as SAS, Stata, or SPSS, and we highly recommend that students learn one or more of these programs.  Once admitted to a degree program at the University of Minnesota, students are eligible to apply for graduate assistant positions in any department at the University of Minnesota.

Other Resources

Students who apply to the University of Minnesota School of Public Health through the on-line centralized application service, SOPHAS, and who meet the December 15 priority deadline with a completed application (includes ALL supporting documentation), will be considered for any scholarships that are available through the School of Public Health.  Notification of such awards will be done via e-mail in approximately mid-March.
