About the Field

The field of health services research focuses on the organization, financing, and delivery of health care services from various perspectives: economics, management, policy, and sociology. Health services researchers work in a variety of settings including the public and private sectors, for profit and not for profit settings such as departments of public health, managed care organizations, and health insurance companies. Their work depends on quantitative analysis skills with which they explore health care system and health services problems.

MS graduates are qualified data analysts who contribute to research teams, playing critical supporting roles in the health services research enterprise.
