MCH leaders work to identify and promote social and environmental conditions contributing to the health of mothers, children, and families. MCH leaders also develop public health programs that may include health promotion and disease prevention, as well as primary care services.
MCH-focused epidemiologic skills are increasingly required in city, county, and state health departments. Graduates work in nonprofit organizations, government agencies, universities, school districts, and research institutes.
