Public Health Administration and Policy (M.P.H)

This major offers a core curriculum on managing organizations to improve population health--emphasizing population-focused administration, policy development, and evidence-based public health.

The curriculum emphasizes the skills necessary for population-focused administration, policy development to improve the health of populations, and evidence-based public health. Students complete the curriculum, a field experience, and a master's project.

Graduates of this program commonly work as administrators in public health, managed care, nonprofits, or other organizations that seek to improve the health of populations.

Welcome to the Public Health Administration & Policy Program housed in the Division of Health Policy and Management.

We offer an exciting program that emphasizes the importance of preparing leaders who will be at the forefront of improving population health. We have a diverse student body that brings a wealth of experiences to the program.

Our graduates pursue public health careers in a variety of settings including non-profit organizations, state and local public health agencies, and healthcare organizations. Throughout the program there is a strong emphasis on developing effective communication, cultural competence, and community interaction skills.
