The Dietary Composition and Exercise Tolerance Study (DIET)
To Participate
To Participate You Must Be Male, between ages 20 and 59, overweight, in good health, and able to visit the clinic on a daily basis as described above.

What You Would Do
In the Exercise & Nutrition Study, you would:
- Follow THREE different meal plans for 1 week each.
- Meals will vary in carbohydrate, protein and fat content.
- Each week-day , you will come to the clinic (U of MN Minneapolis campus, East Bank) to pick up your food for the next 24-hour period.
- There is a 1-3 week period in between each meal plan during which you will be asked to follow your usual eating and activity patterns.
- Complete FIVE clinic visits at the General Clinic Research Center (GCRC), University of Minnesota (Minneapolis Campus).
- One screening & orientation visit (1 hour)
- One visit to assess your exercise tolerance test on a treadmill (1 hour)
- One overnight clinic visit at the end of EACH study week (come in at 6pm and leave by noon the next day) – a total of THREE clinic visits. Blood will be drawn at each visit.
- You will receive $510 upon completion of the entire study.
