Software/SAS Purchase Forms & Policies
Answer these questions to purchase software:
1) Is the software directly available through OIT/ UTools?
Examples: ArcInfo, JMP, Mathematica, WinZip
What to do: Submit ALL the following forms to Virginia Bordeaux for processing. OIT will accept purchase requests ONLY from Virginia .
- EpiCH Software (non-SAS) Order Form
- Software License Agreement
– Software License Application
2) Is the sofware directly available through UMart?
Example: Abobe Acrobat Professional
What to do: Submit an EpiCH Order Form for regular purchase processing.
3) Is this a SAS License or License Renewal?
What to do: Follow the instructions for SAS Order / Renewal below.
4) Is the software (SAS included) to be run on a personal (non-UMN owned) computer?
What to do: DO NOT PURCHASE WITH UNIVERSITY FUNDS!
University, AHC, SPH and EpiCH policy, in order to ensure the security of all electronic data, does not allow employees to conduct work or store Univeristy data on personal (non-UMN) computers.

SAS Order / Renewal
The University of Minnesota has a site license for the “SAS software that is used widely for statistical analysis, as well as for access, management, analysis, and presentation of data.”
Currently, University employees and students may purchase or renew single copies of the software for use on their Univeristy owned computers at annual cost of $75.
Purchasing with Unversity Funds:
Complete ALL the attached forms and submit them to Virginia Bordeaux:
Virginia Bordeaux will verify information and will complete and submit the on-line order. OIT will then email license information directly to the person purchasing the individual SAS license. The EpiHelp team can assist purchasers with information required on the OIT software order form and with installing or activating SAS on their computers.
Note: OIT will only accept purchase requests for SAS from Virginia Bordeaux. All purchase requests MUST be made through her.
