Health Care Reform: Where do we go from here?

Senator Al Franken (DFL), Panelist
Elected in 2009, Sen. Franken is a member of the Senate Health Committee and Co-Chair of the Senate Rural Health Caucus. Since entering the Senate, he’s pushed to ensure that people in Minnesota and across the country have access to affordable, quality health care.
Former Senator Dave Durenberger (R), Panelist
Sen. Durenberger served as the senior U.S. Senator from Minnesota from 1978 to 1995, becoming the only Republican U.S. Senator from Minnesota to be elected to three terms. Sen. Durenberger served as Chairman of the Health Subcommittee of the Senate Finance Committee, and was catapulted into leadership roles in national health reform debates. He also served as the Chair of the National Institute of Health Policy at the Opus College of Business at University of St. Thomas from 1995 to 2014.
Moderator: State Senator Tony Lourey
Since 2006, Tony Lourey has served in the Minnesota State Senate. He has been actively involved in health-related legislation in Minnesota. He Is the Ranking member of the Health and Human Services Finance Committee and currently teaches at the UofM School of Public Health.
