Everyone is touched by public health work and research, yet often those impacts go unnoticed. This is your chance to show us what public health looks like! The University of Minnesota School of Public Health invites you to submit a photo to our social media photo contest; showcase your “impactful public health moment.”
Participants will post a photo depicting their “most impactful public health moment” from any point in time.
Submission Instructions. Submissions must be captioned including the entry hashtag #SPHphotocontest, and tagging SPH’s appropriate social media account: Facebook @umnsph, Twitter @publichealthumn and/or, Instagram @umnsph
Submission period. April 3 – 5, 2017
(specifically, the submission period will begin on Mon., April 3, 2017 at 12:01 a.m. and end on Wed., April 5, 2017, at 11:59 p.m. CST)
Voting. #SPHphotocontest submissions will be reviewed for entrant eligibility and compliance with all rules (see “Rules” below) and qualified entries will be posted to the School of Public Health’s official Facebook page for public voting.
Public voting will begin on Friday, April 7 at 12:01 a.m. and conclude on Sunday, April 9 at 11:59 p.m. CST. Any person who has a Facebook profile may vote, but only one “like” or “reaction” per Facebook profile will be accepted.
Prizes. Four prizes will be awarded to winning submissions. One submission will receive the Dean’s Choice Award, and the remaining top three submissions receiving the most “reactions” (likes, loves, etc.) will be awarded 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes as follows:
1st (public voting) – School of Public Health leather-bound journal
2nd (public voting) – School of Public Health hot/cold tumbler
3rd (public voting) – School of Public Health stainless steel water bottle
Dean’s Choice (Dean selects favorite submission) – GoPro Hero Session camera, 32 GB SD card and a head strap camera mount ($230 value)
Winners will be announced on Monday, April 10 by 5 p.m.
Participation in the Contest is an entrant’s agreement to comply with Contest Rules and accept all University of Minnesota School of Public Health decisions related to the Contest as final and binding.
The University of Minnesota School of Public Health reserves the right in its sole discretion to modify the terms and conditions of the Contest; to reject entries that may be unlawful or detrimental to the reputation of the University; to disqualify any entrant; to remove a posted entry; and to implement any and all other measures necessary to assure that the Contest process is fair and consistent with all applicable law and policy.
All entries will become property of the University of Minnesota School of Public Health, to be used by the University of Minnesota School of Public Health and its associated organizations in any manner consistent with the University of Minnesota School of Public Health’s mission. The University of Minnesota School of Public Health does not guarantee that any entry will be used, even if the entry is awarded a prize.
Participants understand that their contest submissions on Facebook, Twitter and/or Instagram is an agreement of release to those social media channels and any images or captions will be stored by these entities.
