Global Public Health Institute: Reykjavik, Iceland

March 30-April 5, 2008

We are very excited to offer this study and travel opportunity and are pleased there is so much interest.

Registration, Tuition and Fees:

The following tuition rate is available to University of Minnesota Public Health MPH students and non-admitted students. Tuition rates and fees for other programs of study will vary.

Tuition: $526/credit
Institute Fee: $125/course
University Fee: $50/course
Total: $701/course

Reminder: Students enrolled in programs with banded or tuition plateaus may not have to pay additional tuition if they qualify for the benefit (varies by program).

Register online at Onestop. We can accept up to 20 students for each course.

UMN students must have permission from their other instructors to be absent from class before they can register.

Travel

Currently, non-stop flights to Reykjavik are $900-$1200. A flight with one or more stops may cost less. Students must make their own reservations.

Housing

Guesthouse Anna has B&B style accommodations with single, double or triple occupancy rooms with shared or private bathroom facilities. The guesthouse is located a short distance from the campus. Breakfast is included.

Rates listed by shared/private bathroom facilities:
Single: $135/$162
Double: $186/$211 ($93/$105 per person)
Triple: $219/$263 ($73/88 per person)

Radisson Hotel SAGA is located on the University of Iceland campus. Rates are $160 for single or double accommodation. Breakfast is not included but available for purchase.

Dormitory housing - we are checking into this option -- stay tuned for details.

April 3-4, 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m.

Geothermal Energy and Environmental Hotspots (1 credit)
March 30-Classroom Session, 6-8 p.m.
March 31-Field Trip, 8 a.m.-8 p.m.
