National Public Health Week

April 1-5, 2013

About

Since 1996, the American Public Health Association has organized National Public Health Week and developed campaigns to educate the public, policymakers and public health professionals about issues important to improving the public’s health.

This year’s theme is “Public Health is ROI: Save Lives, Save Money.”

Each year, the School of Public Health sponsors a week of activities in conjunction with National Public Health Week. This year’s activities include:

Ninth-annual Public Health Film Festival
Every night features a different genre of public health films, along with guest speakers and panel discussions.

SPH Student Research Day
Research Day is a time to celebrate and showcase the research activities of public health students. It’s also a time to encourage students to consider further research in their careers, and to provide them with an opportunity to develop and present a poster.

Vote for your favorite poster design

Thanks to Daniel Jasper’s fall 2013 junior-level graphic design class for their creative designs! Taylor Wichrowski’s design is our selection for this year.
