Students can choose which events you would like to attend. Please remember that you must attend the SPH School-wide Orientation as well as your Major Orientation on Aug. 23 (more info on that below). Each additional event will give you a great opportunity to meet more of your classmates and learn valuable information about the school. Please also take a moment to complete a short survey to assist us in making this a great orientation session. Division/Major Orientation Information - Please note this information reflects division orientation only. All SPH students must attend Orientation on Thursday, Aug. 23 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. (check in begins at 8:30 a.m.).

The U of M Usability Services Team is looking for students from the SPH to try out the usability of various University Web page designs in the summer and during Fall Semester. No Web experience necessary. Typically evaluation sessions last 60–90 minutes. Days vary. On-campus evaluation appointments will be available over the next several months. Consumer/ Self-care Informatics: This 8-week online course for 1-2 credits focuses on consumer management of health information. It covers consumer preferences for information and use, including personal health records, and Internet-based strategies to support consumers' management of their health. The reversal of consumer-provider relationships and other implications will be explored. An optional second credit practicum with hands on experience in a health care setting is available.
