Dr. Robert Jeffery

Robert Jeffery, Ph.D. is nationally and internationally known for his innovative work in obesity prevention.  He has conducted weight-loss and weight gain prevention trials in a variety of settings, collaborating with the health care delivery system, worksites and local health departments.  His current work is particularly focused on environmental interventions targeting weight gain prevention and the development of a research data base from which to make recommendations about public health policy.  He currently serves as the Director of the University of Minnesota Obesity Prevention Center in the Academic Health Center as well as being a professor in the Division of Epidemiology and Community Health in the School of Public Health at the University of Minnesota.
