Community Health Education
The Community Health Education (CHE) major prepares students to be public health leaders who can design, implement, advocate for, and evaluate efforts to promote healthy behaviors and social conditions. The program provides the skills necessary to change high-risk behaviors and social patterns in a variety of settings. Areas of expertise in the Division include policy, obesity prevention, adolescent health, and substance abuse prevention.
Students interested in pursuing a PhD in Community Health Education should apply to behavioral track of the Epidemiology PhD.
Our faculty is comprised of internationally recognized public health experts. CHE majors benefit from working alongside them in a challenging learning environment with a low student-to-faculty ratio. In addition, the program is flexible. Students are provided with enough elective credits to take one of the Regents' approved concentrations in policy, global health or complementary and alternative medicine. They also have an opportunity to tailor their electives to meet their own interests.

Welcome to the Community Health Education Program which is housed in the Division of Epidemiology and Community Health. We offer an exciting program that emphasizes improving the health of populations through policy and program development. We have a diverse student body that brings a wealth of experiences to the program.
