Internship Offers 'Real World' Experience
The Division of Health Policy and Management is preparing students for dynamic careers in health care through its MS-HSRP&A Internship Program.
Through the program, and under the supervision of Twin Cities researchers and policy analysts, students will work 12-20 hours a week in various health care organizations and public agencies.
In addition to "real world" learning opportunities, students in the training program will earn 30-50 percent of a full-time salary, and receive a significant reduction in tuition.
This opportunity is especially advantageous considering that Minnesota is recognized widely for excellent health policies and delivery systems, especially in the areas of managed care and health care access. Students in the program will gain firsthand knowledge of health care organizations and agencies that are recognized nationally for their innovation and leadership.
As partners in the program, local organizations will pay for a student's salary, fringe benefits, and a large portion of his or her in-state tuition. The organizations are part of an advisory committee consisting of representatives from the sponsoring organizations that provide input about the MS program structure and curriculum.
