The job outlook for PHAP graduates is very bright! Graduates of our program will enter the workforce well prepared for leadership and management positions concerned with the structure, process, and outcome of health services including the costs, financing, organization, outcomes and accessibility of care.

Alumnae can expect to work in a diverse array of organizations, including community based small non-profits, state public health agencies, health insurers, and hospitals. Graduates from the program are currently working with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, UnitedHealth Group, and UCare Minnesota. Our graduates also find positions with health departments at both the state and county.

Although salaries range greatly depending on the type of organization, graduates can expect to negotiate approximately $40,000 - $60,000 with an initial position. This information is based on survey results of our graduates and represents an average experience.

  • Director, HIV/STD prevention program
  • Regional Coordinator, breast/cervical cancel control program, state health department
  • Health Services Coordinator, large urban school district
  • Coordinator, family initiatives program, metropolitan county
  • Research Project Coordinator, tobacco reduction/health improvement center, health maintenance organization
  • County Health Officer, urban county
  • Chief of Immunization Programs, state health department
  • International Health Adviser, international health organization
  • Manager, Population Health, large managed care organization
  • Analyst for a large private health services research company
  • Marketing Manager of a large medical device company
