The School of Nursing and the School of Public Health were mentioned in the Marshall Independent in relation to a workshop whereby police and public health officials learn to communicate effectively with the news media during a crisis. Thursday, May 4 Michael Osterholm, School of Public Health, was quoted by CNN, the Associated Press, New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Bloomberg, MarketWatch, and the Cleveland Plain-Dealer regarding the recent White House report issued on pandemic flu. He was also quoted by the Orlando Sentinel regarding company preparedness for pandemic flu. Jamie Stang, School of Public Health, was featured on WCCO News last night regarding sodas in schools. Saturday, May 6 The School of Public Health was mentioned in the Grand Forks Herald in relation to a student, Justin Horner, who has earned a Master of Public Health degree from the U of M through a special joint program with UND where he has also earned a medical degree. Sunday, May 7 Bruce Alexander and Matt Simcik, School of Public Health, were featured on KARE 11 News Sunday evening about the effect of chemicals in the Mississippi River. |
