Public Health Medicine Program

Degrees: MD/MPH

About

Our program allows medical students to also earn a public health degree and increase their understanding of population-based science and the cultural and environmental factors that affect patients.

Our Public Health Medicine Program

Our Public Health Medicine (PHM) program prepares medical students to have a deeper understanding of population-based science and the cultural and environmental factors that affect patients.

The classroom requirements of the MPH are completed during a 12-month sabbatical (May through May) from medical school while enrolled full time in the School of Public Health. Most students begin the MPH program after year two of medical school. Browse the links at right to learn more about our program and to read about our faculty, students, and alumni. For specific questions, please contact Katy Korchik or Kate Hanson at php@umn.edu.

Thank you for considering our program and the University of Minnesota. We look forward to receiving your application.
