Biostatistics Book Discussion: “Medical Apartheid”

Wednesday, January 19
12:00 pm
- 1:00 pm CST

Event Navigation

  • « TIPH Virtual Fair JAN
  • An Annual Conversation with the U.S. Census Bureau: Addressing Data Quality Challenges in the 2020 American Community Survey »

During this monthly series, biostatistics faculty, staff, and students will facilitate discussion around the book, Medical Apartheid: The Dark History of Medical Experimentation on Black Americans from Colonial Times to Present, by Harriet A. Washington.

“From the era of slavery to the present day, the book presents the first full history of Black America’s shocking mistreatment as unwilling and unwitting experimental subjects at the hands of the medical establishment. No one concerned with issues of public health and racial justice can afford not to read this masterful book.”

This session will cover Chapters 4-7.
