Most academic presentations (and related social media postings) tend to glowingly emphasize scientific or professional achievements. However, one could argue that many scholarly accomplishments are often predicated on how we handle the frequent rejections that characterize academic life. In this presentation, Dr. Gaugler will summarize multiple “failures” that served as the basis for several recent/potential projects, and strategies he attempted to adopt when managing rejection in academic life.
