In the past 10 years there has been substantial interest in whether low vitamin D is linked to various health conditions. This seminar will provide an overview of vitamin D, describe associations between serum 25(OH)D and cardiovascular disease risk in blacks and whites, discuss recent findings from the VITAL vitamin D supplementation trial, and provide insight into the public health and clinical implications of high-dose vitamin D supplementation.
All faculty, staff, and students welcome!
