Local Public Health Staffing in Minnesota: COVID-19 Pandemic Impacts & Strategies

This presentation will discuss findings from a 2022 research project aimed at understanding high needs jobs post-COVID through focus groups and a survey of Minnesota local health departments. We used these findings to inform the Minnesota Public Health AmeriCorps program and develop a local health department internship program for MPH students, both of which had the goal of creating and strengthening pathways into governmental public health careers.
