Loren Saulsberry is the Assistant Program Leader of the Cancer Prevention and Control Program within the UChicago Medicine Comprehensive Cancer Center and the Assistant Director of Diversity Studies in the UChicago Center for Personalized Therapeutics. As a health policy and health services researcher, Dr. Saulsberry investigates the experiences of vulnerable populations managing chronic conditions, especially those underrepresented and medically underserved. Her research interests include: (1) health policies and services that impact precision medicine delivered across the care continuum from prevention and early detection to cancer outcomes, (2) the relationships between politics and health communication, (3) the determinants contributing to health disparities affecting diverse populations, especially across race/ethnicity and socioeconomic status.
