Student Engagement Opportunities

School of Public Health student groups offer an opportunity for current public health students to enhance their education through community building, networking, and impacting the public health field. Learn more about SPH and University-wide student groups and how to get involved.

SPH Student Senate
The Student Senate is made up of students across the School of Public Health and offers you the opportunity to get involved by planning social activities, advocating for public health students, and working with faculty.

Student Ambassadors
The Student Ambassadors are a diverse group of leaders from across the School of Public Health who share their experiences, time, and talents with prospective, admitted, and current students to show all that the School of Public Health has to offer.

Community Stewardship Initiative
The Community Stewardship Initiative works to impact the lives of Minneapolis/St. Paul residents in need through community service events and education, while also engaging current Master of Health Care Administration students, faculty, and alumni in activities that will aid in their development as compassionate leaders.

Diversity Network
Diversity Network is a School of Public Health community-building student organization that focuses on cultivating personal and professional development in diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). This is an inclusive space that brings together students to engage in conversation, vent, and learn from each other. Additionally, Diversity Network is involved in social programming and collaboration with the SPH Student Senate to improve the student experience.

Public Health Review
The Public Health Review is a graduate student-led, online, peer-reviewed, open-access public health journal that is published by the University of Minnesota Libraries. Students, alumni, and professionals from any discipline or affiliation have the opportunity to publish public health-related material in a peer-reviewed journal.

Council for Interprofessional Programs (CHIP)
CHIP offers health professional students exciting opportunities to connect, learn, service, and lead with their peers across professions. CHIP is an internationally recognized center that provides structure, support, and inspiration, for co-curricular programmatic initiatives that enhance the aims of interprofessional education. As a health professional student, you are already a member of CHIP!

Professional Student Government
The Professional Student Government represents professional students at schools across campus, including the School of Public Health. This group creates and influences policies for professional students.

Council of Graduate Students
The Council of Graduate Students is the student organization that represents, advocates for, informs and supports graduate students.
