This webinar is part of an annual series from the Consortium for Workforce Research in Public Health (CWORPH).

Identification of Potential Public Health Workforce Datasets and Their Utility for Future Research (JP Leider & Gabriela Lazalde, University of Minnesota). The field of public health workforce research relies on a small, though robust, set of datasets for the majority of its research. This project identified dozens of prospective datasets and their potential utility and limitations for future research.

Consequences of State Remote Work Policies on Rural Public Health (Betty Bekemeier & Paula Kett, University of Washington). During the COVID-19 pandemic, work across sectors became largely remote and has changed the work environment long term. This study explored how state health departments’ institutionalization of remote hiring practices may be impacting rural health departments, including recruitment and retention as well as state-level planning.
