Research

The Office of Research (OoR) plays a critical role in advancing the school’s research mission, fostering innovation, and addressing pressing public health challenges through the support of rigorous scientific inquiry and collaboration.

We do this through innovative research initiatives that work to foster a collegial, innovative, and inclusive environment,Ā optimize grant submission infrastructure and support systems, facilitate the career development of our researchers, strengthenĀ internal and external collaborations, and offer support services to SPH faculty, staff, and students to facilitate research growth opportunities.

Who We Are

Led by Nancy Sherwood, Associate Dean for Research and managed by Sara Veblen-Mortenson, Director of Research Initiatives, the OoR provides comprehensive support to faculty, students, and staff engaged in a wide range of research activities.

Our activities span across the SPH Divisions including Biostatistics and Data Health Sciences, Environmental Health Sciences, Epidemiology & Community Health, and Health Policy & Management.

The SPH Research Committee is the guiding consultative body of the OoR and is composed of Division faculty and staff representatives from all four divisions, a student representative, a postdoctoral trainee, and pre and post award Community of Practice representatives.
