First Virtual On-Campus Session for Executive PHAP MPH Program

Mona Rath | October 29, 2020

The Executive PHAP MPH program completed its first-ever virtual on-campus session, Sept. 16-19, 2020. Fifty-two students participated—from Oakland, CA to Lusaka, Zambia—in two courses.

MPR meteorologist and University Emeritus Professor Dr. Mark Seeley, spoke about climate change, science denialism, and social justice. Pastor Angela Khabeb spoke about the experiences of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Minneapolis, just a block from the center of the protests and uprising following George Floyd’s murder. Darren Kaltved from SPH Career Services spoke about job-hunting during COVID. Students gathered in a Zoom Room to chat, and program alumni joined students and staff for a virtual happy hour.

The program is grateful to the students, who participated enthusiastically despite the limitations imposed by a “virtual” on-campus

Students enjoy a virtual social hour with their classmates.
