OPEN NOW: Cannabis Research Center Spring 2026 Small Grant RFA
Each application is capped at $50K over a 12-month period to support novel topics in cannabis-related research. For this funding cycle, the CRC is particularly interested in proposals focusing on the potential health benefits of cannabis and issues related to the treatment of cannabis use disorder. Principal Investigators must be faculty of the University of Minnesota. Co-investigators are not required to be affiliated with the University of Minnesota. Proposals are due May 15, 2026. Award notifications will be made June 15, 2026.
New Research Brief: How easy is it for underage people to buy THC gummies and seltzers in the Twin Cities?
In this brief, we describe results from a study that assessed how likely it is that underage people can purchase intoxicating hemp-derived THC products at retail establishments in Minnesota. We also highlight Minnesotans’ opinions about where these products are sold.

Cannabis Research Center Annual Report 2024-2025
The period spanning July 2024 to June 2025 was the second year of operation of the Cannabis Research Center (CRC), a time of transition from building infrastructure to solidifying the CRC’s value to the state as a trusted source of information related to cannabis use and legalization in Minnesota. Highlights include: 19 research projects, 33 presentations and panels, 10 interviews and articles, 8 research briefs, and 491+ engaged followers.
