With the third-largest research portfolio at the University, we conduct inclusive research studies and partner with communities to fight a wide range of public health threats including chronic and infectious diseases, cancer, heart disease, structural racism, and mental health, challenges. ActiveGut Study

This study examines how walking may influence the bacteria living in the gut of people with prediabetes.

COVID-19 Model Code

In response to the COVID-19 epidemic, the University of Minnesota School of Public Health and Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) built a mathematical model to predict the potential impact of COVID-19 in Minnesota.

Effects of Media Controversies on Public Attitudes about Cancer Prevention

Our research uses multiple methods to investigate the impact of news coverage of cancer screening and prevention, particularly controversial messages, on the public’s cancer-related beliefs, attitudes, and behaviors.
