Participation and Eligibility

Registration for SPH Commencement is required to participate in the ceremony and have your name printed in the SPH Commencement program. Registration is closed.

Students who have yet to graduate are eligible for participation as follows:

Masters-level students

Students enrolled in MPH, MHA, or MS programs are eligible to participate in the May 2024 Commencement ceremony if on track to complete course credit requirements by August 31, 2024. Students should be sure to complete the necessary steps to apply for graduation.

Exceptions may be granted on an individual basis per review by the program coordinator and program director. To seek an exception, contact your program coordinator no later than April 1.

PhD students

Students enrolled in PhD programs are eligible to participate in the May 2024 Commencement ceremony if they have participated in an oral defense or plan to participate in an oral defense prior to August 31, 2024. Students should be sure to complete the necessary steps to apply for graduation. Exceptions are granted on an individual basis per the student’s faculty advisor and committee. To seek an exception, contact your program coordinator no later than April 1.

Certificate students

Students receiving a public health certificate are invited to participate in the May 2024 Commencement ceremony. Students should be sure to complete the necessary steps to apply for graduation.

Families and Guests

Invite your family and other guests to attend SPH Commencement. No tickets are required for the ceremony and seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis. All guests not attending in person will be able to watch the ceremony via livestream or view the event recording (the link will be available on the day of the ceremony).

International students can reference Visitor Visa information to write their own letter in order to receive a temporary visa for families to attend commencement.
