Racism Not Race: How a Structural Approach to Health Services Research Can Produce Improved Child and Adolescent Health Outcomes

In this presentation, Assistant Professor J’Mag Karbeah will review recent and ongoing projects that highlight the importance of understanding and interrogating the structural causes of persistent inequities in child and adolescent health. She argues that as an interdisciplinary discipline interested in improving the health of populations, it is important for health services researchers to accurately understand and measure the underlying structural processes that drive inequities using diverse methodological approaches and datasets.
