This certificate helps to prepare public health professionals and others to respond to public health emergencies including outbreaks and emerging public health issues.

The certificate is awarded upon completion of 12 credits related to preparedness, response, and recovery. Completion of the certificate can be done online or in conjunction with courses at the Public Health Institute, which occur during the intersession period in May and June.
