Center for Global Health and Social Responsibility
The Center for Global Health and Social Responsibility maintains a selection of programs with diverse opportunities for coursework, field experiences, and research.
Global Health Institute Thailand
Since 2012, the University of Minnesota has collaborated with Chiang Mai University CMU on this program designed to foster collective action for the benefit of public health, food security, and ecosystem health.
Global Health Institute-Thailand (GHIT) offers One Health Leadership training and specialized short courses on key skills like risk analysis and participatory epidemiology. The two week GHIT- 2016 also will include a research conference for sharing of the latest scientific knowledge on timely topics like emerging diseases, antibiotic resistance, and food safety.
GHIT is an annual activity involving intensive training and comprehensive short courses to encourage application of One Health essential skills and competencies. A researcher conference is held during the GHIT to complement the training and enhance networking and collaboration. Among One Health advocates at Chiang Mai University, the GHIT offers a wonderful opportunity for interdisciplinary collaboration for addressing grand challenges at the interfaces of human health, animal health and the environment.
