Sinotte (MHA ’04) Named President of UChicago Medicine’s Ingalls Memorial Hospital and CHHD

Brian Sinotte (MHA ’04), FACHE, will be joining the University of Chicago Medicine as president of its Community Health and Hospital Division (CHHD) and of Ingalls Memorial Hospital, effective July 1, 2019.

Sinotte’s primary responsibility will be to position Ingalls Memorial Hospital as UChicago Medicine’s premier community provider in the Southland. He will work closely with the senior leadership team, Ingalls’ medical staff and UChicago Medicine physicians to drive growth and improve patient experience and access to services. Sinotte also will help lead the continued integration of services within Ingalls and UChicago Medicine and will play a role in developing Ingalls’ five-year strategic plan.

“Brian will work with UChicago Medicine’s senior leadership team to continue to develop the CHHD as a network for expanding access to high-quality primary care and advanced specialties throughout the Chicago region,” says Kenneth S. Polonsky, MD, executive vice president for medical affairs at the University of Chicago. “We look forward to his leadership and collaboration to achieve clinical excellence and to help better coordinate care for our patients in all the communities that we serve.”

Harvey-based Ingalls merged with UChicago Medicine in October 2016 and became part of CHHD, which was created to give community hospitals a voice in the growing academic health system and ensure they remain vital parts of the communities they serve.

Sinotte succeeds Jonathan Goble, who served as Ingalls’ interim president during UChicago Medicine’s national search.

Sinotte brings more than 10 years of senior-level experience in health care management and operational leadership, along with knowledge of the Chicago and Northwest Indiana market. He had been part of Duke LifePoint Healthcare since 2015, working his way up from CEO of Maria Parham Health in North Carolina to market president at UP Health System, a network of three hospitals including the only 307-bed Level 2 Trauma Center in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. From 2013 to 2015, Sinotte served as CEO of MetroSouth Medical Center in Chicago. Prior to that, he held leadership positions at hospitals in Indiana and Virginia.

Sinotte earned a bachelor’s degree from St. John’s University in Minnesota and holds a master’s in both health care and business administration from the University of Minnesota.
