MHA Program Director 1967-1980

Bright DornblaserThe School of Public Health and the Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA) program have lost a distinguished leader and friend, Emeritus Professor Bright M. Dornblaser.  Professor Dornblaser graduated from the MHA program in 1952. After a successful career as a hospital director, he was invited to succeed James. A. Hamilton as MHA program director.

During his tenure, Dornblaser kept problem solving as the core of the MHA program—as it is today. He expanded the curriculum and established the joint MHA/MBA degree program with what is now the Carlson School of Management. Throughout his 13 years as director, strong alumni support and fund raising remained his top priorities.

In his retirement, Dornblaser was healthy and adventurous and the MHA program remained at the center of his life. He died peacefully in his home on April 12, 2018.

If you would like to make a donation to the MHA Program in his memory, please consider a gift to the Bright M. Dornblaser Fund which provides scholarships to MHA students.
