Continuing Education & Life-Long Learning
What we do
Continuing education and lifelong learning at the School of Public Health are diverse and range from short courses, institutes, professional certification review courses, workshops and conferences with credit and not-for-credit options delivered both on-campus and online.
The Centers are actively involved in developing and offering courses and modules according to the professional needs and intellectual interests of practice partners, alumni, current students and professionals working in their respective fields.

Centers for Public Health Education and Outreach
Continuing education is developed by the School of Public Health, its faculty, and is supported by a number of grants housed in the Centers for Public Health Education and Outreach, including:
- Midwest Center for Occupational Health and Safety
- Midwest Center for Life-Long Learning in Public Health
- University of Minnesota Center for Public Health Preparedness
U-SEEE Programs
U-SEEE — or University of Minnesota: Simulations, Exercises, and Effective Education– is funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and is housed under the Centers for Public Health Education and Outreach. U-SEEE has two programs that complement each other.
- U-SEEE Preparedness and Emergency Response Research Center (PERRC), and
- U-SEEE Preparedness and Emergency Response Learning Center (PERL)
U-SEEE PERRC focuses on educational research, while U-SEEE PERL focuses on delivery of training and education.
