Overview of the Clinical Research Program

Our Certificate in Clinical Research is a 15-credit program and all courses are available online. Some courses are also available in-class for local students.

The Certificate in Clinical Research is designed for clinicians and other health professionals who have at least five years of relevant clinical research experience.

Coursework is conveniently offered online and the program can be completed in six terms, attending part time. The University of Minnesota offers a unique environment for clinical research training as a national center of academic clinical research.

The courses are offered through our Division of Epidemiology and Community Health. Mayo Professor Russell Luepker, MD, MS, is the director of the Clinical Research Certificate and also is the director of Graduate Studies for the Clinical Research MS.

Welcome from the Program Director

RussellRussell Luepker, pictured, is a Mayo Professor in the Division of Epidemiology and Community Health.

Dr. Luepker’s research has focused on the area of cardiovascular disease, epidemiology and prevention. Much of his effort has been in community-based surveillance of cardiovascular disease, including hypertension and stroke.
